Obituary for Franklin Dixon
Franklin Dixon, age 89, of Red Lick Road in Irvine passed away Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center after a short illness.He was born September 22, 1924 in Estill County and was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Oma Floyd Dixon.He was a farmer and logger and was a member of the River Drive Christian Church.He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.He had lived in Estill County all of his life.He is survived by: His wife of 66 years:Marie Murphy Dixon 2 Daughters:Pamela Whitesides ; husband, Richard Richmond Sheila Goodnight ; husband, Randall Rutland, OH 1 Son:Jerry Dixon ; wife, Sheri Irvine 1 Sister:Anna Maude Durbin LaGrange, OH 1 Brother:Roy Dixon, Jr. Irvine 8 Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Katherine Goodwin, Hallie Dixon and Hattie Dixon and 4 brothers:Roy, Earl, Troy and Brookshire Dixon. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 14, 11 AM at the River Drive Christian Church by Bro. Odis Clark. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Sunday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Pallbearers:Melvin Hardy, Brandon Long, Jeremy Dixon, Dwight Marcum, Clinton Dixon, Josh Cox, Mike Snedegar and John Maloch
