Ernest Wayne Griffin, age 74, of Siesta Drive in Richmond, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital following a short illness. He was born December 6, 1949, in Estill County and was the son of the late Willie and Vina Puckett Griffin. He was a retired truck driver for Riley Oil and a former CSX employee. He formerly served in the National Guard, and he was a member of the Free Methodist Church. He had lived in Estill County for most of his life. He is survived by:

7 step-grandchildren: Courtney Stamper, Chandler Stamper, Paige Hatton, Layne Hatton, Summer Blevins, Zachary Blevins, and Tamara Collins
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 sisters, Roxy Roundtree, Dorothy Williams, Marcella Cooper, Mae “Red” Moss, Eidith Dozier, and Bobby Johnson, and 2 brothers, Amos “Bud” Williams and Melvin Williams
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, December 26, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chad Lainhart officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12 to 1 PM.
