Elbert John “Nubby” Jones, age 77, of Broadway in Irvine, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital following a short illness. He was born February 7, 1946, in Letcher County and was the son of the late Elbert Jones and Evelyn Hillyer Richardson. He retired from Ajax Magnethermic where he worked as a production supervisor. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Elbert was a member of the First Baptist Church and he had lived in Estill County for most of his life. He is survived by:

1 son: Jeremiah Jones - California
1 sister: Debbie Riddell - Estill Co.
4 grandchildren: Brianna Hall, Addison Jones, Tanner Jones, and Colton Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 13, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill VanWinkle officiating. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.
