Obituary for Edward P. Noland
Edward Pryse Noland, 89, passed away on Monday, April 2, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington after a brief illness. Edward was born on December 23, 1922, to Luther and Flossie Richardson Noland in Estill County. He retired from Uncle Charlie's Meat Company in Richmond in 1986 after thirty years of service. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Phoebe Crowe Noland; one sister, Sue Witt-Loudin of Lexington; two sons, David Noland (Paula) and John Allen Reed (Ann) of Richmond; two daughters, Johnetta Barger (Kenneth) and Kathy Cosby (Mike) of Richmond; five grandchildren, Kenny Barger (Sarah) of Richmond, Christy Briscoe (Steve) of Danville, Brandy Turner of Asheville, North Carolina, Lindsey Noland and John-Michael Cosby of Richmond; six great-grandchildren, Riley Barger, Lindsey Noland, Paige Barger of Richmond, Brittany Gray, Steven Briscoe, and Zachary Briscoe of Danville; three nephews, William Witt (Tonya) of Richmond, Wesley Witt (Susan), and Warren Witt (Stephanie) of Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Lynn Noland. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home in Irvine. Burial will follow at the Noland Cemetery in South Irvine. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 4, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kenny Barger, Carter Crowe, Steve Johnson, Warren Witt, Wesley Witt, and William Witt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Chrisman, Bobby Kidwell, Charlie King, Bill Todd, and other employees of Uncle Charlie's Meat Company.
