Obituary for Dudley G. Roberts, Jr.
Dudley Grant Roberts, Jr., age 86, of Sandhill Road in Irvine passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center after a long illness.He was born April 5, 1926 in Estill County and was the son of the late Dudley Grant Roberts, Sr. and Effie Williams Roberts.He was a retired carrier with the US Postal Service and was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.He attended the New Bethel Baptist #2 Church and had lived in Estill County all of his life.He is survived by: 2 Daughters:Rosetta Turpin ; husband, Ronald Estill Co. Junnie Conrad Richmond 1 Son:Scotty Roberts ; wife, Virginia Estill Co. 1 Brother:Leon Roberts Estill Co. 12 Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren His best friend:Jennings Adams He was preceded in death by his first wife, Della Horn Roberts and his second wife, Marie Plowman Roberts.He was also preceded in death by 2 sons; Tony Roberts ; his wife, Carol and Kenneth Stepp and 5 sisters; Eula Mae Roberts, Geneva Harris, Euphema Tipton, Rowena Newton and Mary Horn and 2 brothers; Herbert and Brown Roberts. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 1, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jerry Chaney.Burial will be at the Roberts Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 8 PM Monday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
