Douglas J. Dixon, age 74, of McKee Road in Irvine passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Compassionate Care Center after a long illness.He was born July 26, 1938 in Estill County and was the son of the late Roy, Sr. and Myrtle McQueen Dixon.He was a former employee of Forbes and Morris Construction and retired from Sherwin Williams.He was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of the Estill County Chapter of the Gideons.He was a member of the Irvine First Church of God where he served as a board member and a Sunday School teacher.He had lived in Estill County most of his life.He is survived by: His wife:Elizabeth Wiseman Dixon His daughter:Gina Johnson and husband, Mike Irvine 1 sister:Carolyn Miller Lancaster 4 brothers:Roy Dixon, Jr. Irvine Linville Dixon Irvine Milton Dixon Irvine Jeffery Dixon Irvine 2 grandchildren:Jaleyn Shawnta Baber and Brysen Cole Baber He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Harold Dixon. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 16, 2 PM at the Irvine First Church of God by Bro. Todd St. John and Bro. Elder Goble.Burial will be at the South Irvine Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Saturday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 1 PM Sunday at the Church.
