Dorothy Louise Griggs, age 88, of Furnace Junction in Ravenna, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital following a short illness. She was born May 29, 1936, in Winchester, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Buford Ashcraft and Carrie Spicer Ashcraft. She was a Homemaker and had lived in Estill County for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Griggs, and she is survived by:
1 daughter: Lisa Riddell (Mark) - Estill Co.
2 sons: Larry Griggs - Montgomery Co.
Timothy Griggs (Annette) - Laurel Co.
8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 1 son, Randy Dale Griggs, 7 sisters, Susan Meadows, Alma Jean Stone, Irene Huckel, Ruby Henry, Lena Schooler, Florence Marie Wilson, and Elizabeth Neal, and 2 brothers, Elbert and Charles Ashcraft.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 2, 2 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Evans officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12 to 2 PM.
