Dorothy Jean Centers, age 77, of Conlee Lane in Stanton, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Centerpoint Health Hospital in Winchester following a short illness. She was born April 3, 1948, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Lemon D. and Nannie Susan Scott Gross. She was a homemaker and attended the First Church of God. She is survived by:

1 sister: Anna Ruth (Ed) Robinson - Virginia
Her sister-in-law: Donna Gross - Estill Co.
5 grandchildren: Hayleigh Abner, Cameron Owsley, Shianne Abner, Caden Shelton, and Jaylan Shelton
5 great grandchildren: William, Blakeleigh, Wilder, Graceleigh, and Carter
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephenia Abner, and her brother, James Gross.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 4, 1 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glendyn Woosley officiating. Burial will be at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
