Donald Sparks, a lifetime native of Estill County, semi-retired after many years and well known by many, passed away at the age of 84 on January 9, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Center of Richmond after a long illness. Donald is survived by Lillian Sparks, his wife of 60 years. 4 Children:Janice Sparks Roger ; Connie Sparks Steve ; Pamela Sparks Young Brad ; Shonda Sparks 4 Grandchildren:Daniel Odell Willis, Megan Rochelle Young, Donald Ray Sparks, Matthew and Stephanie Nicole Sparks Young 3 Step-Grandchildren:Ben Young, Molly and Penny 2 Great-Grandchildren:Briana Danielle McIntosh and Cody Several Step-great Grandchildren 4 Sisters:Lydia McKinney Hazel Noland Maxine Flynn Estine King 5 Brothers:Earl Sparks Eli Sparks, Jr. Delbert Sparks Phillip Sparks Michael Sparks He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Lily West Sparks and 1 daughter, Gina Sparks Young. Donald had an old-fashioned, but, never truly out of style, set of principles and values by which he governed his life and he labored to instill these in his children.He has left us with this priceless legacy and a multitude of experiences, memories, and stories that we will continue to share in the years to come.He was loved greatly and will be equally missed. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 12, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Beverly Arvin.Burial will be at the Hiram Estes Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Friday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
