Obituary for Dennis James Weaver

Dennis James Weaver was born March 6, 1958, at Kennett Memorial Hospital in Kennett, Missouri. On December 30, 1966, the Weaver family moved to the small town of Rives, Missouri. He graduated from Senath Hornersville High School in May 1976. He went to Southeast Missouri State University for one year, then worked for a year at the Nibco shipping department in Blytheville, Arkansas, before joining the United States Air Force on April 24, 1978. While in the Air Force, he got his Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Technology. On May 30, 2004, Dennis officially retired from the United States Air Force as Chief Master Sargeant, the top enlisted rank, with just over 26 years served. After a 4 day break, he went back to work for the USAF as a Department of Defense contractor for General Dynamics Corporation. After two years as a contractor, he was hired as a USAF civil service employee for the next 14 years, when he had to retire due to having pancreatic cancer and going through chemo and radiation. In total, Dennis devoted 42 years of his life to work and serve our great country through the United States Air Force. He loved the United States of America and was honored to serve and protect her. He fought hard to live for his wife and children for five and a half years. He went home to be with the Lord Jesus on August 29, 2024.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Daisy Eveliene (Sharp) Weaver, his father, James Russell Weaver, his sister, Daisy Denise (Weaver) Lindsey, and his brother, Kyle Dwayne Weaver.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Suzanne Kelly (Gould) Weaver, his oldest daughter, Stephanie Darlene ( Weaver) Smith and husband Troy, his oldest son, Dennis Jason Weaver and wife Amy, his youngest daughter, Christa Evelyn (Weaver) Adams and husband Nathan, and his youngest son, Joshua James Cecil Weaver. Dennis is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Lastly, Dennis is survived by his brother, Terry Russell Weaver and Lanelle, brother-in-law, Jackie Lindsey, sister-in-law, Jennifer (Vance) Weaver, mother-in-law, Carolyn Janet Gould, father-in-law, Harold Gould and Dixie, brother-in-law, Harold Timothy Gould and Rhonda, and brother-in-law, Thomas Fox Gould and Rhonda.

Dennis loved his wife dearly and was so proud of all 4 of his children. Dennis was a soft spoken, intelligent, hard-working, determined man, who loved Jesus and made a difference in his country and in his wife's and children's lives. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 7, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Military Honors will be provided by the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
