Obituary for Darrell Isaacs

Darrell Issacs’s faith ended in sight on January 19th 2026, surrounded by his adoring, devoted family. Born in 1945, Darrell was a devout servant of Christ, pastoring and sharing the gospel for over 40 years. He was married to the love of his life, Dessie Marie Gordon Isaacs, for over 61 years; their marriage a testament to commitment, faith, friendship, and love. Together they raised two children, Jacqueline and Steven. Darrell retired from Southern States Feed Mill. In the eyes of his family, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone, and was especially known for his lawn mower/weed eater repair skills. He enjoyed attending church, rabbit hunting, front porch sitting and simply being outside, and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

His parents, Floyd and Maggie Marcum Isaacs

Three sisters: Arzella Crawford, Bobbie Gordon, and Janet Woosley

In addition to his loving wife, Dessie, he is survived by:

His Son: Steven Isaacs (Pam), Estill Co.

His Daughter: Jacqueline Miller Sewell (Danny), Estill Co.

Four grandchildren: Alexis Turner (Jeremy), Chad Miller (Daesha), Alisha Lester (Tony), and Steven Isaacs Jr.

Two Honorary Grandchildren: Lucas Barnes and Sarah Hill (Brennon)

Eleven Great Grandchildren: Preslee Miller, Kenneth Lester, Paelyn Miller, Hannah Turner, Kaleb Lester, Greyson Turner, Phoenix Miller, Darci Turner, Silas Miller, Bennett Turner, and LilyAnn Turner

One Brother: Odale Isaacs

Two Sisters: Grethel Bicknell and Judy Richardson

Numerous beloved nephews and nieces

His 80 years on earth were certainly a testament to the Lord and a life well lived. Even though his family is heartbroken, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life together in Heaven. If love could have saved you… 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 23, 11 AM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Stone Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 9 PM.
