Daniel Lynn Neikirk, age 81, of Old Fox Road in Irvine, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Compassionate Care Center following a long illness. He was born January 5, 1942, in Estill County and was the son of the late Louis Byron and Elizabeth Greene Neikirk. He retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot where he worked as a Supply Clerk. He was a member of the Bethel Christian Church, the Kentucky Colonels, and the 4H Council. He was also a former Kiwanis Baseball Coach. Daniel was a United States Navy Veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict, and as a Government Employee during the Gulf War. He had lived in Estill County for most of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Dorothy Warren and Mildred Tuttle, and 9 brothers, Fred, James, Donald, Boyd, Marshall, Ralph, Bill, Ray, and Louis Neikirk Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 30, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Curtis officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6 to 9 PM.
