Bufford Paul Townsend, age 76, of Walnut Grove in Irvine, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond following a long illness. He was born July 3, 1949, in Indiana and was the son of the late Cassius Townsend and Melinda Pitts Townsend. He retired from Richard Wilson Trucking, and he was of the Baptist Faith. He had lived in Estill County for most of his life. He is survived by:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Paulana Kay Rawlins, 1 sister, Rhodie Gabbard, and 3 brothers, Jim Townsend, Buck Crowe, and Georgie Townsend.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 1, 11 AM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Crowe Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.
