Brenda Cheryl Mills, age 70, of Racetrack Road in Irvine, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital. She was born July 22, 1954, in Jackson County and was the daughter of the late Harmon and Cora Powell Sparkman. She retired from Modern Dry Cleaners where she worked as a seamstress, and she attended the Friendship Baptist Church and the Speedwell Christian Church. She had lived in Madison County for most of her life. She is survived by:
1 daughter: Heather Carmon Barnes - Irvine
1 son: Sean Lee Edward (Jerri) Hacker - Ridgeville, IN
2 sisters: Joyce Cain - Rockcastle Co.
Thelma Jean Stewart - Lawrenceburg
3 grandchildren: Sean Blake Hacker, Cameron “Sandy” McCoy Barnes, and Cassidy Alexis Barnes
Several step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister, Janet Brewer, and 2 brothers, James Edward Sparkman and Roy Harmon Sparkman.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 5, 11 AM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Pasley officiating. Burial will be at the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.
