Billy Gene Thomas, age 81, of White Oak Road in Irvine passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington after a short illness.He was born January 18, 1930 in Lee County and was the son of the late Bill and Ima Jean Snowden Thomas.He was a retired employee of Kaiser Steel in California and was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.He was a member of the Ravenna Church of the Nazarene.He was also a member of the Estill County Golf Club and the American Legion.He had lived in Estill County for the past 15 years.He is survived by: His wife:Ora Lee Marcum Thomas 4 Daughters: Peggy Pounders California Debra Lasley California Sharon Newman ; husband, Randy California Karen Navarrete California 1 Son:Jeffery Lee Thomas California 2 Sisters:Marlene Thorpe Frankfort Sue Hatton ; husband, Bubby Frankfort 4 Brothers: Bob Thomas Beattyville Donald Thomas ; wife, Yvonne Frankfort Larry Thomas ; wife, Patti Frankfort Mike Thomas ; wife, Marcia Beattyville 11 Grandchildren 18 Great Grandchildren And his beloved cat, Clack Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 8, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Mills and Rev. Warren Toler.Burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Sunday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
