Obituary for Bertie Smyth Henderson
Bertie Smyth Henderson, age 87, of Main Street in Irvine, passed away Friday, October 14th, at her home following a short illness. She was born March 29, 1929, in Menifee County, a daughter of the late Troy and Nellie Marcum Smyth. She was a housewife and had lived in Estill County most of her life. She was a member of the Ravenna Christian Church, a charter member of the Estill County Historical Society, and a member of the Estill County Homemakers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Weston Henderson. She is survived by: A Daughter: Valerie H. Flinchum Irvine 1 Sister: Hoyt Baber Ravenna 2 Brothers: Elwood Marcum Smyth (Ellissia) Rome, GA Larry Dale Smyth (Debbie) Ravenna 2 Grandchildren: Michael Justin Abney (Nancy) Matthew Jason Abney (Matthew James Nelson) 3 Great Grandchildren: James Weston Fike II Zoe Camille Abney Mason Jagger Abney She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Joy Henderson Abney, 2 Grandchildren, James Weston Fike and Richard Jared Fike, 2 Brothers, Glynn Smyth and Lloyd W. Smyth. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 3 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Paul Groves with burial to follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 PM Monday until service time.
