Obituary for Alvin C. "Dud" Barnes
Alvin C. 'Dud' Barnes, age 76, of Furnace Junction Road in Ravenna, passed away Saturday at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington after a long illness.He was born September 25, 1938 in Estill County, the son of the late Sam Courtner Barnes and Stanley Green Reed Barnes.He retired from the State Highway Department and had lived in Estill County most of his life.He was a veteran with the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.He was preceded in death by his Wife, Illa Gaye Dennis Barnes.He is survived by: 4 Sons: Charles Edward Barnes Estill Robert Harold Barnes (Lori) Powell Mark Alvin Barnes (Donea) Estill Terry Daniel Barnes (Marsha) Estill 3 Sisters: Lou Ellen Gray Estill Ruby Lynch Estill Charlene O'Shea Ohio 2 Brothers: Raymond Barnes Estill Wayne Barnes Estill 5 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by a Son: Michael Wayne Barnes; 3 Sisters: Mildred McCoy, Dorothy Chaney, Ona Barnes; and 4 Brothers: Roy, Clyde, Allen, and Boyd Barnes. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Terry Barnes and Bro. Kenny Wasson with burial to follow in the Barnes Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
