Alvena Jewell Abney Burgin, age 80, of Barkley Estates in Nicholasville passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the St. Joseph East Hospital after a long illness.She was born September 9, 1932 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late George Everett and Myrtle Rogers Abney.She was a former employee of the State of Kentucky and attended the Southland Christian Church.She is survived by: 8 Daughters: Angela Carter Lexington Brenda Brandenburg Estill Co. Rebecca Estes Estill Co. Norma Williams Lexington Dena Gilvin Estill Co. Carolyn Tuner Indiana Gwendolyn Burton Nicholasville Pamela Isaacs Lexington 1 Son:Alvin Robbins Lexington 1 Sister:Belva Bennett Estill Co. 3 Brothers:Arthur Abney Estill Co. Donald Abney Estill Co. James 'Ernie' Abney Estill Co. 35 Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by 1 son, Mark Robbins, 1 brother, Lenlie Abney and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 24, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Elwood Patrick.Burial will be at the Robbins-Abney Farm.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Sunday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
